Project Description

Support from the Rural Alberta Development Fund has helped the Condor-based Central Alberta Rural Manufacturers Association (CARMA) develop a sustainable business-directed network. This marketing network promotes and fosters the growth, development, competitiveness, and economic efficiency of rural manufacturing in the Central Alberta region in and around Red Deer. CARMA also offers supply chain-collaboration solutions, learning events, and trade shows.

Expected Outcomes and Benefits

All projects go through a selection process to ensure they will improve the quality of life for Albertans. This project meets this objective through the following outcomes and benefits:

  • Establish a sustainable, business-directed manufacturing network in central Alberta
  • Increase economic activity and investment in rural Alberta
  • Attract new manufacturing businesses to the region
  • Host manufacturing round tables and other learning events to help manufacturers become more aware of best practices and the need for competitiveness
  • Help Red Deer-area manufacturers collaborate, enhance productivity, and commercialize innovations
